About the Role of the Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizational Development

To promote organizational culture through initiatives focused on leadership development, onboarding, change management, shared equity leadership, operational leadership, and interpersonal communication. 

  • Design and execute programs and projects to meet desired organizational outcomes for CLA. 
  • Promote systematic change management processes in the college to ensure strategic goals and vision set by the Dean's Office are successful.
  • Design and execute CLA’s Administrative Leaders Program.
  • Leverage opportunities to create and enhance professional development opportunities for staff through partnerships with CLA ODEI and CLA HR. 
  • Facilitates and coordinates implementation of initiatives and special college-wide projects such as CLA Academic Corridors, CLA Staff Community, DEI Summit, CLA Community Forum. 
  • Promote employee engagement, organizational development, leadership development and desired organizational culture through the CLA Roadmap and similar college-wide initiatives.
  • Work closely with the CLA Office of Equity and Diversity in implementing strategic initiatives, including the creation of a staff culture for equity, diversity, and inclusion and shared equity leadership. 
  • Partner with LATIS professionals and other college leaders to provide organizational improvement services in the college
  • Leads and facilitates committees and off-site retreats for college administrative units
  • Provide leadership and facilitation to the college Operational Leadership Team, AIM and other college-wide teams. 

About Deb

Deb Ludowese joined CLA in 2006 and is currently the Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizational Development and Administrative Director in LATIS. Born and raised in rural Minnesota, she has a B.A. from the College of St Benedict/St. John’s University and has earned additional professional certifications in Human Resources, Organization and Leadership Development, Project Management and Business Analysis from the University of Minnesota College of Continuing and Professional Services (CCAPS).

Deb is an experienced facilitator and meeting host and has used Art of Hosting Participatory Leadership training and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work in a variety of forums, events, retreats and projects in both CLA and at the University level. Deb’s passion for leadership development in CLA was sparked in the first cohort of the CLA Admin Leaders Program in 2017.  Deb served as ALP Program Coordinator starting in 2018 and has been co-lead since 2020. 

Deb is currently working on her Masters Degree in Learning and Talent Development in the College of Education and Human Development.
